Vivian Kubrick, the daughter of the late director of The Shining, Stanley Kubrick, spoke out against the longtime host.
Vivian told Dr. Phil on X, which was called Twitter at the time, “You are putting Shelley Duvall “on show” while she is in a pitiable state of illness.”
“There’s no doubt that this is just a form of lurid and exploitative entertainment; it’s horribly cruel.”
“Shelley Duvall rose to fame in movies…” You are taking away any dignity that this poor creature might have in this world by showing her in this way.
“I feel completely disgusted. I hope other people will join me in not watching your heartless form of entertainment. It has nothing to do with healing with compassion.
What killed her?
Duvall died because of problems with his diabetes.
Dan Gilroy, who was her partner, told The Hollywood Reporter the sad news. He also said that the actress died in her sleep at her home in Blanco, Texas.
