MOST-22 Sue Radford says the death of her best friend’s daughter has “broken” her heart.
Sophie Walker, 17, died last night after she had been sick with Wilms tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer, for seven years.
Sue, the mom of Britain’s biggest family, led online tributes. Sue is best friends with her mother, Rebecca, who is 43 years old.
The 48-year-old woman commented on a heartbreaking Instagram post by Sophie’s family and called her a “kind-hearted, funny, brave girl.”
“Sophie, our hearts are broken. You were the most beautiful, kind, funny, brave girl I know,” she wrote.
“Sophie, we will miss your beautiful smile and laugh so much. Please rest now and take care of your wonderful family.”
“Love you forever beautiful girl.”
The letter from Sue’s daughter Chloe said, “Absolutely heartbreaking.” What a pretty and brave girl.
“There aren’t any words.” Thoughts are with you all and sending lots of love and strength.
Sophia, her sister, said, “The most beautiful and bravest girl.” It breaks our hearts to pieces.
Katie, who is also a Radford child, talked about how much she loved everyone and sent all of her love.
She also put the post back on her Instagram stories with sad emojis and the words “Love you Sophie.” Will always remember the good times we have together.
The brave teen began a four-week course of chemotherapy soon after being told she had cancer on October 25, 2017.
Over the years, she went into remission twice and then back to being sick four times.
Her 17-year-old twin sister Megan was with her when she died.
Sophie died, and her family wrote, “Our beautiful, smart, funny, and brave girl Sophie fell fast asleep last night just after 6:30pm with Megan lying by her side.”
“To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. We love her with all our hearts and our world will never be the same again.
“Please keep our broken family in your thoughts and prayers, this is a post I never ever thought I’d have to write.”
People on social media rushed to the comments to help Sophie’s family.
“My heart is broken into a million pieces for you all,” one person said.
“This is terrible. Neither Sophie nor your family deserved it. Sometimes this world is so mean.
“Sophie was such a beautiful young girl and her life will live on in your memories & the stories you tell about all the love you had for, the funny times you had with her and all those amazing qualities that made her the wonderful courageous girl she was.”
“I’m so sorry guys,” said a second. She fought hard, and so did you all. She’s no longer in pain.
“It doesn’t make sense…it’s cruel that nice, beautiful people are taken this early.” Your guardian angel is now the most beautiful person ever. “Fly high, sweetheart.”
“I’m so sorry to read this sad news,” said a third. That Sophie was a brave and strong girl who always gave it her all.
